Knot Wall Commissions
A wall commission is the centre of the studio practice. It starts with photographs of the room and a measurement of the opening that the piece will fill. We draw a template on paper at full scale, mark the dowel position, sketch the knot pattern and estimate the cord weight so the panel hangs without sagging. Buyers approve the drawing before the bench work begins, which removes most of the guesswork from a large piece.
Finished panels range from a small square above a reading chair to a wide horizontal runner that spans a reception wall. We match the fringe to the ceiling line: short and dense for low rooms, long and open for tall ones. Every commission is a single piece made for a single address, and we do not repeat a design. Hanging hardware, a paper pattern for future reference and a care sheet travel with the work.
